Our Performance - Recovery Formula Key Ingredients
Milk Protein Isolate
Blend of casein and whey proteins that contains 90% crude protein (minimum) and approximately 3% fat. The casein component is more slowly digested than the whey, providing a slow and steady release of amino acids into the body. Milk protein isolate is a completely balanced protein that contains the branched-chain amino acids, leucine, and isoleucine, important for optimal muscle growth and activity. It has also been shown to prevent bone breakdown and have anti-inflammatory effects in the body.
8 Critical Amino Acids
Complementing functional properties of milk protein isolate are eight amino acids critical to supporting the active – working dog. Working synergistically to overcome the development of an acidic pH (lactic acid) that leads to muscle fatigue, increase muscle mass, boost anaerobic strength, improve muscle recovery, boost endurance, rid the body of harmful amino acid breakdown, ammonia, increase blood flow, aid in the production of energy from fat and important functionality in the heart and brain.
Robust Antioxidants
To complement the presence of Icelandic kelp which has strong antioxidant functionality, we add Beta berries powder, Blueberry powder, and Citrus bioflavonoids as they contain phytonutrients such as polyphenols, anthocyanins, resveratrol, and carotenes, all of which have strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. - Super Fuel is designed as a post activity formula like a post workout protein drink for people. Simply give Super Fuel on your dog’s regular meal at the end of the day. This will begin the recovery process.
- Super Fuel and Go Dog is the optimal combination for any active dog. Go Dog given before and during activity and Super Fuel at the end of the day on a meal is a great combination that will cover all the basis for any active dog.
- Our Super Fuel formula is designed for dogs over 6 months of age. Our recommendation would be our Puppy Gold® formula. Puppy Gold is formulated similarly to canine mothers’ milk to support your puppy’s development after weaning. Puppy Gold includes powerful ingredients that include the primary building blocks of muscle, bone, tendon, ligaments, articular cartilage and other connective tissues. Pups should remain on Puppy Gold until 12 months of age and transition to our other formulas.
- It is certainly okay for you to give your dog more than one of our supplements. If you are using two supplements, we recommend splitting them between AM and PM meals. Anytime you start a new supplement, we recommend you introduce it slowly with ½ of the recommended amount and gradually work up to the full amount over 7-10 days. We use K9 Power Super Fuel when training and competing with our dogs. Not only does it help our K9 athletes recover from a hard workout or competition, but they love the taste of it too! We don't leave home without it especially in the summer months when our dogs are working extra hard in the heat. It also encourages our picky drinkers to hydrate better. A must have in our gear bag!
